Las Vegas is of course best known as Sin City for all crazy sins that supposedly goes on there without any issues. I was thinking about visiting LV check such things out. I consider myself law abiding so I would prefer keep things legal, especially because of the security requirements of my job. However, after doing some research looks like only major sin that is legal in LV is gambling.

Gambling is still illegal in most places in US, but recently there have been more places allowing gambling. Example from Dallas, TX, I just need drive 1 hour north to an Indian Casino if I wanted to gamble away my money. Gambling just doesn't seem like big deal anymore.

From all the depictions of sex in LV, you would think prostitution is legal there. In fact, many people inaccurately do think it is legal in LV. Supposedly it only legal in some brothels 3-4 hours round trip from LV. In fact, looks like law enforcement officers do crack down on hookers in LV. Recently the news mentioned the FBI arrested 51 people related to prostitution in LV.

Drugs, like marijuana, seems like it could be potentially legal in LV, but it isn't either. In fact, legal age to consume alcohol is 21 in LV! I am also not buying that "What happens in LV, stays there" slogan. I am sure if you get a DUI, busted for drugs or a speeding ticket it would show up on your criminal records Anyhow, not sure showing up to LV just gamble is worth it for me.

One of these days a group of disappointed visitors is going to file a class-action lawsuit against this city for false advertisiting.

Unfortunately, for the best of sin, you need to take a 17 hour flight from L.A. to the sex capitol of the world (Bangkok), or a 7 hour flight to Amsterdam from NYC, or if you're squeezed for money, Tijuana will definitely take care of all your sinful desires.

I don't think there's any shortage of sinful things to do here. This place has a wild weekend, party reputation for a reason. There are plenty of opportunities for sinful indulgence.

If you're looking for legal prostitution, you may be disappointed. But sex is everywhere, so even without prostitution, I don't imagine you'd have a hard time getting some action. The lack of legal prostitution should be a non-issue on that front.

I'm no sure exactly what you're looking for in a vacation, but I've never heard any visitor complaints about Vegas not being sinful enough.

Just looking it from a "legal" perspective of what is technically allowed by law there. I am sure there a ton of sinful activities go on in LV just under the radar of the law.

As for wild parties / sex everywhere, I do think there are ton of cities in US have that going on. It is surprising some of the things I hear goes on in some of private clubs here in Dallas, TX. Tough. LV probably is more extreme in those aspects, I am guessing?

Arrow The 7 Deadly sins.. In Las Vegas

Ok, Lets break it down.

Gluttony - Well there is CERTAINLY THAT IN Las Vegas, with food every inch and more decedent and lavish food as well

Fornication / Lust - Yup - Plenty of Lust / Porn / and I am sure no one sleeps at the Palms or the Hard Rock

Greed - WHOO WHA DRILL SARGENT!

Sorrow - Yea, the loss of your paycheck in Keno would cause some sorrow
I think there are more pawn shops / payday loan places in vegas then anywhere else in the world.

Wrath - Well not as much, I think we get pretty nasty when we lose but not wrathful

Vanity - My favorite sin (Al Pacino) (see hubris)

Hubris - Oh yea, Vegas be a prideful over the top, silicon till the boobies are sticking out of the turtleneck sweater, cars, clothing, jewelry.

Jonathan

If gambling is legal, is it a major sin?

Go to Vegas ,eat and drink to excess, blow your wads and go home happy.

Blowing your "wad" in one way, I don't believe would send you home happy! Another way, maybe so!
