The monsoons are coming this week for a sneak preview. So we will get that yucky humidity here in LV between now and sometime in August.
My biggest problem with the heat is those giant roaches that keep coming in. One fell on me while i was opening the garage to put the trash out, then it crawled in my shoe. I learned a new dance last night. lol

Damn, do they get into the house too? I figured the heat would kill off most of the bugs. Do you guys have mosquitos too? I can't stand those things!

Those dreaded giant roaches will be the last living things on earth. So i guess they'll get the last laugh.

I've been finding dead **** roaches all around the outside of my house. I guess they can't make it across the hazardous waste zone that Terminex sprays around out there. I never see a live one unless he's belly up and kicking. What I don't see at this end of town are the crickets. We had those all over the place a little further east of here. Do you ever see them up here olecapt? We have been having a swarming bee problem in the neighborhood this year. Since it is presumed that all bees in the valley are now Africanized, it's a real shame, but they have to be killed for people's safety. In fact it really worries me that if we kill off the bees we won't have any food.
I found a dead scorpion in the closet last year. Don't see too many of those anymore and I have no idea how he got there, but the dogs looked suspiciously guilty. I haven't seen a vinegaroon in years, nor do I see black widows in this area. We do have plenty of large, ugly, wolf spiders though.
Oh, and your dogs will like it here because we have no fleas in the desert.

Here in NY we get these things called Waterboatman's in our pools, if you try to pick/scoop one up or it gets on you your F'd, it is prob the worst sting you'll ever have, my hand blew up like a baloon. Looked like I had sausage fingers.

So billee, you will have to ask yourself.. "do i want waterboatmans or killer bee's..." lol
The good thing about the bee's, they aren't all over the valley, just in area's here and there. They seem to really like Henderson, maybe because it's hotter over there.
