I just returned from a long weekend vacation in LV and although I had a really good time, the smoke in all of the casinos was killing me! (literally and figuratively)

Any chance LV takes a page out of AC and bans smoking or at least section it off?

I think they can't afford to, it's major plus for gamblers.
It will cost the casino's way too much money if smokers have to go outside all the time.

I understand your point, but I can't be the only who would seriously consider an alternative vacation solely because of the smoking in the casinos. It's that bad.

I am a smoker myself, and was pretty surprised that you can smoke inside.
Looking back on it it's pretty logical because of what I mentioned above.
I do understand what you mean tho, from a non smoker point of view.
To me it's pretty confusing where you can or can't smoke tho,
cause I'm not sure if it's allowed everywhere inside,
or merely the gambling areas...

they will have 'smoke free' areas of the casinos - they don't want to alienate anyone
but you will never see a smoke free casino, ever

Quick story. My wife and I were playing slots and the guy next to us is smoking a cigar. He can see that the cigar smoke is bothering us so he cashes out from the machine he is on, apologizes for the smoke and moves to a different part of the casino. I thought that was one of the nicest things I have seen in a long time.

The ban in AC was instituted because of complaints from workers (not customers) that they were inhaling 2ndhand smoke and it was detrimental to their health. As a non-smoker...I love and applaud it (and just returning from AC last week...it was still just as crowded.)

Until the LV workers complain, it will probably not change.
