its sad because the Mexican restaurant was great, but Gilley's will live on as Stoney's at LVBS and Serene in the Vegas Pointe Plaza...I wonder if it will allow minors just like Gilley's did...

I won't miss it. It reeked something fierce. So where are the roaches going to relocate to?

You got that right. I used to hold my nose when I had to dash through there to the personel office. I hope the Riv is next. It is so bad I got a sore throat just breathing the foul air for a few minutes.

Kid, we've got to send you on an all expense paid trip to Laredo, TX, so you can see what Mexican food is supposed to taste like.

Oh come on, I volunteered at the Riv for a Blind Convention, the Riv is actually a really nice hotel, of course its not on par with the Venetian but it is still fine, the casino wasn't that bad...

Every hotel on the Strip is 4 stars, only the Four Seasons is 5 stars, so yes, the Casino Royale is 4 stars just like the Wynn is 4 stars...

I'm not talking about the star rating although I doubt the Riv is a four star hotel. It is old and smells bad. Admittedly I haven't been back for a few years because of the last bad experience, but it hasn't gotten any younger, and the only way to get rid of over 40 years of smoke and mold and chemicals is to tear it down.

I won't go so far as to say that my wife and I are "experts" on allergies, but we are way more knowledgeable about it than many doctors. People are very ignorant of what that kind of air can do to them, but believe me, it's bad.

BTW: People can be allergic to anything under the sun including the sun itself. From what you have said about how the heat affects you, I would bet the farm that you have a ton of allergies and one of them is to the sun. But don't despair, you can get rid of allergies.

If I was allergic to the sun, wouldn't my skin be peeling, burned, and have many freckles...I get tan, I'm not allergic to it, I just don't deal well with dry heat

Dry heat is the best. You'll get used to it as you get older Kid. I'm formerly from the humid midwest, and i got used to the dry heat much more easily than the sticky icky humidity. (not looking forward to the monsoons if they ever get here.)

As for the Riviera, I agree with Buzz. It STINKS! Only a smoker wouldn't notice the stench.

No, not necessarily. You never know how allergies will affect you. You might have any illness under the sun and someone with the right training could trace it to an allergy to anything. Actually, illnesses are caused by having several allergies. Remember, you can be allergic to anything under the sun; and that means anything. I've been treated for allergy to protein, oxygen, calcium; things the body is comprised of and necessary for life. It's both scary and amazing sometimes. But, if you are indeed allergic to the sun, you are probably also allergic to radiation which you can be getting from your computer monitor. Ever feel unusually tired after being on the computer, or watching a TV set up close? Check out those two sites on allergies. It's not just what makes you sneeze.
