I am coming to Las Vegas on February 7th and planning to stay for 2-4 weeks as I search for a job. Does anyone know of a decent place that they would recommend? I am having a hard time finding a place that accepts guests for longer than 10 days at a time. I am really wanting to avoid the "budget suites, extended stay Americas, etc." I will be doing a small amount of gambling and maybe seek out a show or two. Any lower level casino/hotel suggestions would be appreciated. I was thinking Riviera, Binions, Circus Circus. Does anyone have experience getting a nightly price reduction based on an extended stay? In my mind, I was kind of hoping to catch a break and get $30-35 per night rate based on a month stay.

You can get $30-$35 a night Sunday though Thursday, but when the weekend comes, watch out! Sorry, but your best bet is a $150 weekly motel unless you have lots of extra money to burn.

You could head out of town on weekends and save, rooms in California and Arizona during Feb are usually some of the lowest of the year and get a sense of what getaways are within driving distance. Or just head out to Stateline or Jean where rates will be a lot lower and you'll get some discount offers there for staying. In any case you are coming at a fairly slow time of year after Super Bowl as long as you leave before the NASCAR crowd comes in the first weekend of March.

As casinos giving discounts for extended stays, it really is uncommon. Casinos realize people who are paying cash for a room only have so many days of gamble and spend in them. If someone stays a week they figure its probably someone there to do what you are doing or someone waiting for a house to be ready. They feel no need to give a discount for someone who is using the place like an ordinary hotel.

10 days at a time for 30 days only equals 2 moves. Looks like you have located the solution already.

I know there are people who get monthly deals at The Stratosphere. Also some of the cheap places downtown. Binion's hotel rooms are closed down now. The best Sunday-Th. rates mid strip are at Imperial Palace. Good luck!

Maybe stat at Primm Nevada and drive in for interviews for the day. That could do better than you were hoping for.
There would be two 40 minute drives a day back and forth to bed though.
