I have friends visiting and they are interested in seeing a ghost town. I googled and it seem like "Pioneer Saloon" in Goodsprings is a good choice, but is there anything else to see or do around there?

Any advice on other interesting day trips? (We went to the Hoover Dam yesterday.)

Rhyolite [thanks dyn ]...on the way to Reno...is the best Ghost Town I've been to...but it would be a long day trip. The old cemetery in Pahrump (not that far from LV) was kind of neat to visit.

Visiting Death Valley National Park is a nice day trip. Laughlin, NV is a nice overnight trip.

pioneer saloon isnt really a Ghost....just an old biker bar....

Rhyolite is the nearest accessible Ghost [95 miles north near Beatty]

Chloride near Yermo is a constructed Ghost made up of buildings broiught in from real Ghosts

The other Chloride on the way to Kingman is a near ghost

Oatman, AZ, not too far from Vegas. It is an old mining town, "ghost town" and fun to go there, because they have these little tame donkeys that roam around the town, and you can feed them, and pet them. Oatman, Arizona - A Living Ghost Town

Snow Canyon, outside of St. George is a nice day trip, nice place to go hiking, beautiful scenery there. Snow Canyon State Park | Utah.com

Ghost Towns and History of the American West

Has them listed by county. In Clark County, It looks like Nelson and Goodsprings look the most "ghost towney". There are also a number in southern Nye County, especially around Beatty.

Delamar is the best one, but you'll probably need a high clearance vehicle to get there. History of Delamar Nevada!

One day, we won't have to drive so far to see a ghost town, there'll be "ghost towns" within the Metro area.

Not likely tij...we just gained another seat in the House of Representatives because people stayed here in Nevada (according to the 2010 Census)

See the link in the Nevada threads, was all over the news today and in the papers here in town.
