Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and could really use some help with a trip I am planning to LV in a couple of weeks. I'm going with a friend and we have booked a hotel on the strip, but we don't have a lot of extra cash to play with. I am trying to find the best free or cheap dining and entertainment options. We are late 20s, like to drink moderately, dance excessively (top 40/House), love shows of any kind, and know next to nothing about gambling. We won't have a car and prefer to walk to everything. We would be willing to sit through time share pitches if we can find some that offer good freebie incentives. I'd appreciate any ideas you all can share! Thanks in advance!

Suggest you go to Anthony Curtis' Las Vegas Advisor - Las Vegas Coupons Hotels News and Shows. They have a free forum and you can review and post threads there that are especially targeted to Las Vegas visitors. A good podcast for Vegas visitor info is Las Vegas Podcast: Five Hundy by Midnight. Have a fun trip.

The Entertainment Book is filled with 2-for-1 coupons...and could be gotten for around $20.

you sound like your female, if you and your friend are 'visually appealing' you can walk into most bars and guys will buy you drinks (no admission for women) and drink and dance most of the night away.

BTW: you can save a TON of money by staying off strip - or near strip. like $30-50 a night for a room VS $100-200 a night for a strip room, frees up some cash

If you're really hot, Macgeek may hook you up with a place to stay.

I always thought walking the strip, especially at night offers great free entertainment !. You can stop at the Bellagio and watch the water fountain show .

You can check out the people, step inside some of the new hotels, you can get an amazing delicious 99 cent margarita at Bills Gambling Hall and Saloon .

You can take the Duece Bus all up and down the strip ( not sure of the price ) likely pretty reasonable.

Alot of the hotels ( at least local ones ) have penny machines so you could take 10 bucks and make it last awhile...hopefully

O'sheas Casino used to have $1.00 drafts of beer, and well drinks. They have beer pong there, which is always entertaining to watch. Casino Royale has $1.00 or $1.50 drafts of Mich Ultra and $0.99 margaritas. The Dueling Piano shows all over are fun to watch and people do get really involved in them. Mr. Lucky's Cafe at the Hard Rock has a 24/7 special not on the menu that is $7.77 and you get a piece of steak, and some shrimp plus a side. If you can get to Fremont St downtown, this is a great people watching place. They have $3 Coronas at Fremont Hotel, or lol....hit the ABC store, buy a six pack for like $8.00 and hang out to watch people and the canopy show...that's what my friends and I do. Some clubs do have free admission for ladies so be sure to check out the LasVegasWeekly to plan accordingly.

Suggestion: check out the steak special at Ellis Island. Last time we were there (2007) we paid $6.99...so it may have gone up in price. Not on the menu...you have to ask for it...but even at $8.99...well worth it. Includes a mug of beer, salad and dessert. Nice cut of meat...with veggies and potato.
