ALSO....try BIG DUNE....it's about 2 miles N of Lathrop Wells [or Jackass....whatever they call it now] on the right side of the road.
At one time the Sierra Club was trying to close it cause it was home to the Scrab Dune Beetle [unique because it has a larger penis then other Dune Beetles]
Anyway....it's a great dune for riding....very high and long....

Yeah, whatever happened to Lathrop Wells? There's not even a sign there now is there? Used to be a nice rock shop/gas station/wh**e house there. And a restaurant/camp ground across the road at DV Junction.

The beetles are non-union strike busters?

I ride motocross and freestyle. I too have heard that the southern Nevada desert is a great place to ride. I used to have a blast in Az. I learned alot from this thread as far as riding goes. What are the requirments for off highway vehicles in Nevada? I assume I will need to put my spark arrestor in and get my OHV sticker. Is there anything else I should know? What places are good for natural terrain with big jumps and fast approaches where I will not make anyone angry (I'm not a punk kid who doesn't care. I have a loud race bike and want to be respectable to those who are in the area for a good peaceful time). If I ride in AZ and CA, will I need each states OHV decal? Here in Wy, Colorado and Wyoming have a deal where one states sticker is good in the other.

Edit: I found the answer to the "Where to ride" question by reading this post all the way through.
