Do all rental homes/condo's come with so many restrictions attached to live there?

And Why?

Why not? Should renters be treated different than owner occupants?

Please explain olecapt, I am new to all this and would like someone to explain it in layman terms. I have been doing some research on it. But, somethings are just better explained strait out the mouth from those who know first hand.

There are two sets of restrictions that renters regularly run into. The first is that imposed by Landlords and based on the experience of many LLs over a long span of years. This includes paying the rent on time, taking reasonable care of the place, not changing it etc. These are the rules of the landlord to protect his income and asset.

The second set is that imposed on all who live in a community. This may include parking restrictions, landscaping standards, upkeep standards and even behavior...ie have your garbage cans in by a fixed time or keep your garage door closed. These restrictions apply to all who live in the community and are supposed to improve the quality of life.

Thank you for explaining this. I totally understand now. It can be difficult dealing with some people (renters) and you do need rules to protect everyone/everything involved.
