I don’t know if this has been addressed before (I’m sure it probably has…. I couldn’t find the proper thread) but I’d be interested in hearing people’s opinions on the best Las Vegas Casinos for Locals.

Personally, I like Tuscany on E. Flamingo Road just west of Paradise. They give me $40.00 free play each week. Unlike some other places like the Station Casinos, you don’t have to put in any of your own money to play the free weekly cash. And the free cash can be played on just about any slot machine. They also give me free mystery cash ($3 - $1,000) twice a month. I’ve gotten $100 a couple of times. Usually it’s $15. Comps accumulate very quickly there. I have over $1,500 in comps so far. This can be used to purchase food at any of their restaurants, items at the gift shop, or for booking rooms (which can come in handy if you have weekend guests but don’t have enough room to put them up all in your house). You can also choose to redeem your points for cash without reducing your comp balance.

One more thing…If you choose to eat at their Café, not only can you pay your tab with comps, but they’ll take 20% off your total tab if you’re over 55.

It’s not a very fancy Casino, but it’s not bad. I’ve walked out of there twice this pass year with over a thousand dollars in winnings without spending any of my own money!

Most of the time, though, I usually end up losing a couple hundred dollars a week….but I always have hours of fun and the comps are great.

My favorite Casino is Red Rock. I don't know why exactly except it is the first Casino we entered when we first moved here. As I have said before, their buffet is the best

I would say any of the smaller casinos. My choices are usually Green Valley Ranch for dining and movies; South Point for gaming, bowling, and movies; and Fiest Henderson seems to be the place I can play the longest and lose the least, and they have the only paper only bingo room in Vegas! (woo-hoo for us bingo-ers)

Sign up for Club Fortune in Henderson - good free money every month and you don't have to put in your own money first Also Jokers Wild on Boulder is pretty loose with some of their Video Poker machines. Used to do well at Sunset Station but they've tightened up - Green Valley is too ritzy (IMHO) to be considered a comfortable 'locals' casino - they are too into competing with the Strip mega-resorts. As for local bars/grills try the INN ZONE off Eastern - can actually sit at their bar and play nickels which is pretty much unheard of since VP at the bar is usually nothing less than quarters. I also like the Orleans which is semi-local - nice casino, good selection of restaurants, excellent rooms at reasonable prices and a good assortment of machines. Some of the best comps are from the Sahara - yes, the Sahara!

Even though I'm not a local, locals casinos are the only ones I go to now... For blackjack, the Longhorn and the Bighorn have the most liberal rules I've found. The $1 a hand blackjack at the Poker Palace is awesome!

I have a soft spot for South Point also because it's so close to me... the M is beautiful also but it's further for me.
