Ya, maybe $110.

Either way, there are so many better jobs than teaching. Teaching should be a last resort, unless you come from money or live like a homeless person and have little overhead.

I am moving from NJ to LV this summer, as I've accepted a teaching position in Summerlin. While CCSD has an unusually odd system to evaluate teachers, I found the independent schools to be much more appealing. Investigate NAIS.org and look through the job postings listed there for the LV area. Although I am a certified teacher in NJ, hold a master's degree in my field, sit on a national board for teachers, and have written a textbook, CCSD did not consider me sufficiently qualified to teach in their (bottom ranked) school district. Odd indeed. However, you may find a good fit with an independent school. Best of luck!
