Well most of NLV is not good. I would find a spot in Henderson. Do you have a car?

If you have no car, then NLV might be ok around the local library area, near Civic Center.

Stay away from MLK and Rancho area, the letter streets.

You are fine if you stay north of Craig, west of 15

NLV is huge. Most of it *IS* good. Parts of it are some of the most pleasant residential in the valley, IMO, and quite affordable. It's just the Southern (and Eastern) end of it between downtown and Craig rd that you want to avoid.

Check out Aliante (master plan area in NLV).

Yes, stay west of the I15 and North of Craig. I have lived in the North Las Vegas area for about 10 years now, and love it. You can have crime everywhere. I would suggest driving through the neighborhood that you are thinking about at night. just to get a feel of it. Ours is quite calm at night. I love the fact that my daughter is outside playing with her little friends after school, and I have no worries about it.

I would also suggest that you stay away from the area around the Library and Civic Center, that a previous poster had suggested. If you do not have a car, there is plenty of bus stops and routes that can be taken.

I live right next to home depot on craig. Very quite street. Was a little uneasy about 6 months ago with 1/2 the houses vacant and squaters strolling through every day.. but seems they have all been bought up now (save 1 or 2) and is much better now.

We have a few local bars in Aliante that you can walk to quite easily, no bus required. Aliante is bordered by Decatur/Grand Teton/Clayton/Centennial Parkway.
