It was magical. I know there are areas of Las Vegas that aren't nice, and I know some people have bad experiences there, but I lived there until I sold in June of last year (thank God!) and I can honestly say... What street did you live on in Southfork? I just listed another home in there. It is a pretty nice neighborhood. If you sold 2 years ago, you probably didn't cash out as much as you could have if you waited.

I totally agree with you! Same goes for construction jobs in this city (non managment ones) and landscaping crew positions.
Ever went by a Home Depot parking lot around 6 a.m or so? Even later they are still there. Loads of illegals standing around looking for day labor. Why doesn't the INS just drop by there with a paddy wagon? :-)

It used to be the hotels and casions would care about the people too. It's all infested with illegal workers and they could care less about your stay. New York New York Hotel and Casino has been over run with these people. I tried to live there for 1 year and it was a terrible place to raise a family but I like to visit the strip from time to time on a vacation but lately it's going to hell in a hand bag.

Illegals are rare to non-existant in the strip hotels. They receive careful scrutiny and many require various cards...Food service workers for instance. They are all also members of the Culinary Union. Many Hispanics...but almost all legal.
The jobs pay reasonable well. No cutting wages if you deal with the Culinary. So why do you think they would hire illegals?
Strip service is as good as ever. The newer places really feature good service and high prices. Seems to work.
Dry wall and roofers are heavily illegal.
The pickup workers at Home Depot are mostly, but not completely, illegal. The immigration people have no trouble finding illegals...they simply lack the resources to deal with them.

You find illegal all over town. Virtually none in the strip resorts.
As you will learn I do sell real estate. But I also truth tell. I never lie or even misdirect. I do reserve the right to interpret on occassion...but even then I say I am interpreting and why I think that right.
The reason I may chose not to stay on this list is it has insufficient traffic to be worth the effort of checking in. I will be an old old man before I sell any real estate off it.
It is interesting. You doom and gloom types appear to jump on Vegas/Nevada and Arizona. Why is that? I have been around a long time and there is no way many states are comparable to the two. Ohh they may not be in the top 5...but the are easily in the top 10. Why do you like to spread excrement over them?

Are you kidding me?????????? Please.......Tight hiring protocol That is the funniest think I've heard on here yet
Like I said you don't have to fib about the strip in order to keep selling Real Estate in Vegas.
BTW I can jump on any forum I please and give my opinion. I'm not a Realtor trying to sell homes, I have nothing to gain.

There is no reason on earth why I would fib about the strip. I have no interest in it except as a large employer. And I actually could not care less whether they hire illegals or not. Someone tell you we don't sell houses to illegals?
And you doom merchants jump on any list you want. And you sow untruths to feed your poor beatup egos. Happens all the time. It is sad...those who can't post.
And I am not a Realtor trying to sell houses. So I have about the same rights as you don't I?
The big difference is I try to confine my views to those things I understand. You don't.

I understand these illegals present false ID's and fake social security numbers and the Hotels look the other way. That's why the help doesn't speak English and couldn't care less about the customer service they are suppose to be providing. This is the same in the Construction field. I guess you haven't been to the strip lately. Illegals shoving those call girl flyers up your nose every 5 steps you take. Illegals working in the New York New York Deli, took me 10 minutes to play charades to order my food and it was wrong when I got it.

It is utter garbage posted by a set of individual who, for reasons likely intertwined in their personality and pyschosis don't care for it.
It is a large Southwestern City. With exactly the parameters you would expect of one.
Including a lunatic fringe who believe tearing it down is their God given duty.
