Default coyote got my yorkie

Coyotes will jump walls ... I have seen one do it, with my favorite yorkie in it's jaws.

In the earlier morning a few days ago a coyote jumped our backyard 6 ft. wall, attacked one of my yorkies (just out to do her morning duty), and jumped back over the wall with her, no where to be found. Now my other Yorkie won't stay out long and I have to admit, I don't like going out at nite or early morning any more fearing they could still be lurking around.

If we could only find their den and get them relocated. I know the coyotes are only doing what's natural to them so I can't be angry about that. But I'm devastated beyond believe for the loss of my pet.

How very sad. Condolences.

They always could jump walls...but they generally don't...for fear of finding a Pit Bull rather than a Yorkie.

Our neighbor had his older female mutt badly mauled by a rotty mix that came over the wall and chased the old girl through the dog door into the garage.

I have seen a number of them on the local roads but always around dawn. They seem to be gone by full light.

YOu sure it was a coyote? Most of the western are too small to make it back over the wall with a five lb dog in the mouth.

I'm so sorry, Jean.
