Gee, nice to know that someone who lives in the ghetto section of South Miami does not want to move to Las Vegas.

Thanks for sharing.

If you walk into a Vegas bank with great credit and no job but the ability to put 50% down on a <$100k Las Vegas condo, would most bankers give you the loan?

I don't think the banks are lending on <$100K condos period, no matter how good your job or credit.

Why not?

The national media makes it sound like the banks want to dump their real estate as fast as they can.

Even during the early 1990s recession, 50% down was a lock if your credit was good.

What????

That might be true for where you live in New Yawk, but not in Las Vegas

Maybe the condo convo's require more strigent guidelines in order to obtain a mortgage, but for a regular condo/townhome you should have no problem with good down payment and meeting all the financial criteria (good credit, stability, employment, etc),
