$6,650,000 in 10/2005. Mary Bartsas---once a personal secretary to R Nixon.

Well, there are forward thinking people including the mayor that are hard at work trying to revitalize this part of town. It might fail miserably, but I'm hoping for the best. E. Fremont is definitely not a family friendly place as it stands right now. I live about 2 miles from here and I love my neighborhood. Most people, including my friends, are quick to use words like "ghetto" or "the 'hood" even though they spend little or no time in the area.
The lofts in question are already framed and will be completed by the summer most likely. It's definitely going to take time to gentrify this area, but I'm holding out hope because Las Vegas needs to mature like other cities have in terms of mixed income living situations. The current layout of Las Vegas has well defined and rigid separations between social classes and feeds the fear and distrust of the lower class.

I am moving to Vegas soon and saw an ad for the Urban Lofts on 11th St. Is this area just as bad as Fremont and Eastern or is it considered ok?

Wasn't the drive-in called the Blue Onion?
Cruising Fremont brings back pleasant memories of my high school days
