Yes, but from where hubby's place was off 7 Hills Dr/Sunridge all the way back to the area around the school off of Democracy / Madeira Canyon took 20 min. That is where we were looking, in the Anthem Highlands area.

There is a good tapas restaurant (if you like tapas) nearby. Barcelona Tapas.

Mmmm...that looks great! Right up my alley. I spent a semester in Spain and did a lot of tapas hopping.

Thanks!

I do not live in Southern Highlands but have drove through and spent a little time on a couple of occasions and I have to say I was really impressed with the development and area. The landscaping is to die for...so beautifully done. And it's kind of neat how S.H is set against some of the Southern plateau-ish hills. Hence the name...hahahaha! You almost feel like you are in a different city. It has a different feel from the rest of the city.

I remember that story very well, from 2005

Anyways, what I remember reading in the paper and watching on the news (a friend of ours Ky, was a reporter on this story) was that Mr. Ferguson had a very checkered and shady past which people had found about and also owed back dues on his country club membership. He won a civil case about being allowed back in to the country club but he had to pay his back dues, and, if he hasn't foreclosed on his million dollar home by now, he must be still enjoying life in beautiful Southern Highlands.

Mr Ferguson tried to get Reggie Jackson (ex-NY Yankee) to join his racial bias case (and other African Americans who lived in the nearby million dollar homes) but to no avail. No one else wanted to join Mr. Ferguson with his racial discrimination case against Southern Highlands.

There were allegations that Mr. Ferguson might have even planted the racial material himself, and invented stories about harrassment, to bolster his civil suit and use the "racial discrimination" thing, but and no one ever found out who really did all the harrassment that Mr. Ferguson claimed he received.
