Default Average cost of utilities in Henderson/Las Vegas?

I was in a forum about Henderson and someone in there said they pay an average of $600/month for electricity, gas and water for a single story home?!?!?! Is this true?
My husband and I have been looking at the Las Vegas area as a place to possibly re-locate to, but even if housing is affordable there right now, there is no way we could afford to pay that much just for utilities .

It depends on size of your house and usage. A better gauge would be how much are the current rates for electricity, gas, and water.
My monthly bill for electricity is approx $80.00 for 600kwh (2000sf house). My gas bill runs $25.00-$30.00 for 20-30 Therms. My water is consistently $23-$25 per month for 6-7k gallons.
I suggest look at the utility rates online for each city you want to relocate too.

That is correct for the summer months. However, the fall, winter, and spring will be much less.

Just looked up the rates for NVEnergy-residential, it is $.119 per kwh. I used to pay $.289 per kwh in Guam. I think electricity is very cheap here.

$125 just for electric or for all your utilities? I pay about $125/month for all my utilities: gas, electricity, water, garbage, sewer. I live in Northern Utah right now.

ETA: We live in a two story townhome.

Again, it depends on usage of a/c, insulation, size of house, solar screens, etc... My highest electric bill last summer was $215.00 with a/c set at 78.

My utilities average ONE MILLLLLION DOLLARS (per month). Luckily my gambling proceeds always manage to cover it.

If you buy a newer home with good systems you wil get by for less than $150 per month on average.

I have an older rambling 3000 SF single story. I peak at $650. But I average under $350. I have no gas so that drives up my heating bills a bit.

My AC units are also very old which probably costs more than $100 per month in the heat.
