It never bothered me and I was often driving right near the farm, although the worst was when one of my kids had a school field trip there. Being right in it was a little pungent. A school field trip to the pig farm???? No wonder the schools are ranked 49th! Something tells me the colored drawing from that field trip involved a lot of pinks and reds! Those poor kids are probably still having nightmares.

So I know it stinks for at least two miles around. As I recall the pigs weren't quite so bad, but then they brought in cows. The pigs have been there since there were no paved roads in the area except for Craig which was two narrow lanes usually partly hidden by blowing sand. It was a short cut to the base, and the old racetrack. Many people have bought houses right across the street from the farm and then had the guts to complain about the smell, just like they bought at the end of the runway at Nellis, and then complained about the airplane noise. These people should be forced to pass a mental competency test before being allowed in Nevada. Same goes for people who buy houses that back onto a freeway.
I question a developer who decides to build so close to a farm. I question the buyers...even more.

a chicken farm smells like a sewage treatment plant during the hottest day of summer, while a Limburger cheese delivery truck had a head on collision with a Bhut Jolokia chili pepper delivery truck, and fire department hosed it down with skunk.

Oh...I'm sorry. When I suggested a fishy smell, I thought you meant The Chicken Ranch...up in Pahrump!

That's definitely one permission slip I'm not signing if I'm a loving parent in LV!
