Uh, Pink...that's not downtown, dear. That's in the county about 6 or 8 miles from downtown.

2500 a month!?! I wouldn't try to live in any city in the US on 30K per year. You're just asking for low income rentals which ends up having more transients, homeless, etc... Have to get out and about!

Now, now, guys, oftentimes I head "downtown" to Sam's Town. Sometimes, I go to the Silverton, out there in Summerlin.

You guys are so perfectionist this weekend. I did mean to say downtown and the east side, but when i typed it, i was in a hurry to leave to go out to lunch! Food is more important at times than perfection. Right guys? Isn't food the key to a dude's heart and all that? Pizza, beer and the remote.

Pizza, beer, remote, and a fat chick to serve it up. Skinny chicks don't get it.

That didn't mean combined.. If you were with another person you would need double that obviously, but I wasn't meaning that you have to only make that much. That would be just to get by, read the whole post!

Wow...so much to reply to here! This thread took off like one of those wildfires that you see every summer out west!

Yes, it's true...I don't live in Las Vegas. I proudly proclaim my residence as upstate NY in my ID. I do visit Vegas a couple of times a year, I got married there and my brother lives in Summerlin. That does not make me a resident, and certainly not an expert on Las Vegas...but I do see a different LV as I don't always visit just for casinos. I travel there approximately twice a year.

I simply asked the OP what his or her frame of mind was when they moved there, so as to allow others that may share that same frame of mind to have a reference. My brother has lived there for almost 10 years now...and has found LV not to be the utopia he expected. He has opened my eyes to some problems that would be virtually unknown to the tourist who may never rent a car or travel off the strip.

Besides, where in the rules does it say that one can only post in threads where they reside? ihateny...you live on LI with mom & dad, right? You have posted here too.

If this challenge does take place, please post your findings back in this thread. I would be curious of your findings and they may benefit others, too. Especially, those planning on relocating there.

Hmmmm...I think even the hardcore supporters of Las Vegas would question this one.

Once again, DC along with PG county and Baltimore in Maryland will have over 300 murders EACH, tell me how many murders have occurred in Vegas? Vegas gets the occasional shooting like the one in front of New York-New York.
Statistics would probably show that you're correct...crime in LV is less than DC. But there is much more than the occasional casino shooting in LV. Olecapt can provide (and has provided) any crime statistic that you'd like to know about...and you can find other posts within the LV forum to support that there certainly is crime in Las Vegas.

Just curious...based on your SO (PinkString, Juicer Queen)...you don't pay that in singles, do you?
