I finally went to City Center for the first time last night. Now I only went to Aria, but that was enough for me. I cannot believe this place is the most expensive casino ever built in Vegas. It is dark and gloomy in Aria, and there is nothing there to set the place apart from the other casinos on the strip. I think the other MGM properties are much nicer and livelier. Planet Hollywood, and even the Flamingo blows that place away.
I was wondering why all the people hired there have disappeared, but now I know the reason. Both of my friends from Arizona were also disappointed because they were really looking forward to seeing it, but they left in disgust.

If they can't appeal to the great unwashed masses (like lvdrunk), then this place is in trouble. Seriously. Do people really want to visit a place that takes itself so seriously? Vegas is about extravagance and fantasy, and fun. CityCenter feels like going to work instead of a fun weekend vacation. It's one big clusterfu*k , but I'm sure they will figure out how to make it work by redeveloping. It has great potential.

I think it already is in trouble. I saw lots of dealers standing around empty tables, and this was at nighttime. The place has a depressing aura about it. Anyone else who has been to Aria knows what I am talking about.

I was there between XMAS and New Year. I think City Center was a big waste of money and I can't see how it will survive. I know I won't go back, I will continue to visit my other strip favorites.

I am pretty sure that the marketed image of extravagance and fantasy is over now. Vegas will need to reinvent itself again to survive the current economic conditions.

I was wondering why all the people hired there have disappeared, but now I know the reason. Both of my friends from Arizona were also disappointed because they were really looking forward to seeing it, but they left in disgust.
