No need for Crate and Barrel, we already have West Elm, Pottery Barn, Z Gallerie..... IKEA does not want to open shop here, according to them the locals are intellectually challenged!

I recently asked Republic Services why they only recycle #1 and #2 plastics, and they said it's because that's as high as most Las Vegans can count.

My wife and I try to find Cracker Barrel when we travel. We've never understood why they wouldn't have at least two in Las Vegas. I think next door to Bass Pro/Silverton Casino would be an excellent location for one.

And speaking of Bass Pro, I'd also like to see a Cabella's. Reno has one.

I've found the opposite. Since I've moved FROM Vegas to Seattle, I am missing stuff Vegas has that we now don't (Carrabas, Lindo Michoacán, Ricardo's, Chevy's, Mimi's Cafe) . I can name like 15 restaurants off the top of my head and I am fully planning next year to spend a week JUST eating my way through Vegas when we go back to visit family.

That said......I used to wish Vegas had a Roscoe's House of Chicken n' Waffles, and ANY type of Smörgåsbord. I was mad when they closed down the Alpine Village in the early 90's, so maybe bring that back.
HH, if you get a hankering for the best Italian food outside of Italy, you have it in Seattle. And guess what ...it's owned by a Chinese family. And that is why they named it "Perche No?" which is "Why Not?" in Italian. Anyone from Vegas visiting Seattle should go there. It is absolutely fantastic food, and the family makes you feel really welcome. The Chinese owner is funny, and speaks Italian like a native. Welcome to Perche No Pasta & Vino

Still haven't heard a good reason for not having Chick-Fil-A here - yeah, I know their religious underpinnings don't mesh with Las Vegas & there would probably be a backlash to being closed on Sunday. Beyond that, I'd think they would do well here - everything on the menu's great, killer lemonade, awesome waffle fries (I'm not normally a fry guy) & high quality chicken.

Further down the list, an Ikea would be nice. Charlie's Chicken (http://www.charlieschicken.com/ - broken link) has some amazing comfort food, tho almost nobody's heard of them. (Small chain in Oklahoma - only 5 of them, I think.) Their chicken chunks (big hunks of white meat) are awesome & they have very affordable chicken-fried steak & the like.
We had a Charlie's Chicken here. Don't know if it still exists but the food was really good!

I don't know if it has to do with being "allowed". My understanding is (and it could be way off base) but my understanding is the owner of CF is a major Christian and does not want any of his restaurant franchises in "sin city". We have them on every corner, down here in the bible belt.

If you mean "major Christian" in the "give to the poor, comfort the sick, turn the other cheek" way then I disagree.

If you mean "major Christian" in the "fire Muslims for not paying to Jesus, give millions to anti-gay rights groups, the universe is 6,000 years old" way, then yep -- we're totally in agreement.

I agree that a Vegas Chik-Fil-A would immediately be a MAJOR cash cow (cash chicken?). But I have never eaten in one. And I never will.
