I discovered that some entertainers, bands, etc., form a corporation and pay themselves a salary, and they pay UI contributions, Social Security, etc., like any other business. So they are just getting back some of their own money in that case. I'm sure they do it for other accounting reasons than being able to collect unemployment, but that's part of it.

I was working out at the 24 Hour Fitness on S Rainbow today and this really tanned sweaty guy walked in front of me and started running on the treadmill directly behind the elliptical machine I was on. It was Carrot Top. He kept to himself, and no one bothered him. I'm at the gym at least five days a week, and never saw him before, so maybe his regular club is one of the other locations.
