"The Clark County court system is ranked the fifth worst "judicial hellhole" in the nation.".....didn't know hellhole was an actual rank.

wonder what the other ranks were? hopefully w/ a little reform we can make it to judicial limbo-land...we just need a limbo stick and a catchy tune....

doot du doot du doot du-du, etc.

we went thru this before: American City of the Year...means it beat out other nominated American cities as a whole. Other category winners for City of the Year were for Africa, Europe, and the Asian Pacific Region. there can be only one...(insert highlander joke here)

the competition involving lagos and Lima was, and i quote: "The Centennial Hills Master-Planned Campus won first place in the Sports and Leisure category, beating out projects in Lagos, Nigeria and Lima, Peru."

LV also took top honors in the Transportation category, primarily due to our Alternative Fuels Program. this was note worthy, as we beat out Bremen, Germany (an Indian city, Ahmedabad, was also listed, but i am not familiar with any of its programs).

the rest of the info can be found here: http://www.world-leadership-awards.org/home.vc (broken link)

sheriff was actually the one who 1st posted this honor (back in the cesspool thread somewhere)....so thanks should go to him, again!

I was surprised to find out how cutting edge this city is in terms of its use of Alternative Fuels. It does not seem to get much coverage.

I especially like the fact the city has to enter itself in the competition: http://www.world-leadership-awards.org/entries.vc (broken link)
