Bring a matching pair of asbetos mittens because you'll need them to grasp the steering wheel of your car.

Cheap affordable living, stupid people. Both can either be applied to the pro or con of living in Las Vegas.

You won't go insane if you do your homework first. Research the heck out of every place you want to move to, and don't move without a job. And do not buy before renting. Always have a backup plan.

Easiest summer since I moved here. Low humidity, and nothing in the 116 range.

Last summer was definitely warmer. That being said it's been pretty hot this week but 110 is still par for course this time of year.

Do you realize that LV has, on average 210 full sun days? That doesn't count partly sunny or partly cloudy (whatever that difference is...) and those are barely cloudy. So, in other words, the sun is an ever present orb. ( I LOVE that) If you don't like sun, do not even consider...don't try to talk yourself into it because of low $ housing, or any other financial benefits. You will NOT be happy.

Try Nebraska. Or North Dakota.

Good luck!

It's hot (or at least sunny) for most of the year here. Unavoidable fact.

But I will point out that every place has air conditioning, and it does cool down at night and in the early morning.

Public transportation isn't great, but you could always carpool for school.

I have a 70% chance of moving to LV from SD in five weeks. What the locals say is true.My cousin used to live in North Las Vegas and he says it depends on what you looking for.I've been doing research for about four years on the entire Las Vegas valley from Henderson-North Las Vegas-Summerlin and everywhere in between.

PROS:
~Lots of Sun
~Nice warm days (i love the heat)
~always a show to see or something to do
~Rarely snows (we had like 3 hours of snow last January i think it was)
~not a lot of yard work (desert landscaping)
~any kind of food you want... there is a restraunt for that here.

CONS:
~traffic sucks
~rarely rains and when it does everyone hydroplanes down the freeway instead of driving
~hard to meet people. neighbours never come over for BBQ and to BS
~not too many nice swiming places. i mean the casinos but too many people. the lake but who knows whats in that water...
~Everyone drives like they are on the autobahn.
