Other golf course is supposed to be Southern Highlands. They tried for RB but had issues getting clear title. It sounds like property lines are a real issue around the golf courses....this is not confirmed just a rumor.

I think it's a good thing about Pacific Links buying the club. They are a good company and have no debt. I also heard a rumor that it was Southern Highlands, but again, just a rumor. Such a shame they couldn't make RB or the Falls work. I really liked the idea of a water taxi taking you from the Lake Club over to the Reflection Bay club to golf both courses. I mentioned before that the City has been really tight lipped about RB and the Falls. I'm still holding out that the issues were resolved and maybe the course they are buying is in LLV.

It's my understanding that the recently opened coffee shop has already shuttered its doors as of this week.

Lake Las Vegas isn't going backwards.

What's happening with the Loews has been going on since 2009. This is not new. This is very common with hotels everywhere right now. Including the JW Marriott in Summerlin, Hooters, Hilton.. the list goes on. Too much debt. I have heard some rumors about the Loews property, which will be very positive if they are true.

I heard about Coffee Cantata. I don't get it. Everytime I went in there it was busy? I was there on a Monday morning a few weeks ago and there wasn't a seat left. I know the owner was a small business sole proprietor and he was a young guy. I imagine he was working 7 days a week and never owned a business before. It's hard work. Maybe it was too much for him and wasn't what he wanted to do? I'm speculating. I have been re-assured that another operator is in the works, which will also sell crepes. This is supposed to happen pretty quickly. The place is turn-key. I'd like to see the casino operator, with some financial backing, open Harry's Coffee House in that space.

Lake Las Vegas is still marching forward. Based on ecomomic indicators, jobs are being added and things are getting better, which means hotels and tourism is getting better! Rooms rates and occupancy is anticipated to increase this year. The ice skating rink is bringing great crowds to the village. Last weekend, the restaurants were jammed and with the sunny weather the grassy field was packed and people skating. The efforts of Julie Barbagallo and the village team are working.

Lake Las Vegas has 4 home builders currently building homes.. about 2 per month for each builder... this is good news. There aren't many neighborhoods building new homes and LLV has 4 swinging hammers and adding more roofs each month.

The casino is doing well and they are doing things right. Their dinner/food specials are bringing people in. I hear that Ravella in on track for increased occupancy and conventions in 2012. A grocery store in the village is still in the works. 2 new village tenants are arriving in February. The postal net was very helpful for me recently when I needed some copy and laminating work. Plus, they have the PO Boxes.

With the economy finally getting better, the best is yet to come for Lake Las Vegas!

LLVResident, as a resident of the area I "thank you" for the positive news. However I hope that the positive news can also be displayed in local articles and publications to show that LLV is still alive and kicking.

Just a thought but for $29.4M, I would hope Steve Wynn can pick it up and turn it into a boutique hotel for even more exclusive high rollers. I know having a golf course is important to his type of clientele and I thought to have heard rumors that he was going to demolish his golf course behind the Wynn resort for structures? Imagine if he can pick up one of the courses along with the Lowes property... I'm sure his weight can get that expressway built a lot faster as well.

@Hard888. I have a google alert set that alerts me to any mention of Lake Las Vegas, & Casino Montelago. Other than this Loews thing, there has been so much positive exposure for Lake Las Vegas in the recent months. Travel and Leisure websites have been recommending Lake Las Vegas as a great strip alternative etc. There is also good publicity on the local news media as well. All of these articles show up on my email.

I did some more poking around about the coffee shop. I know it's a double sting, with the last place leaving, but both were not from a lack of business. My intincts that I mentioned above appear to be correct.

There are so many great events coming up for the village this coming year. Julie Barbagallo is doing an amazing job along with the rest of the Montlego Village staff to bring wonderful events to Lake Las Vegas.

Steve Wynn rumors were around last year as a potential for the Ritz property. I haven't heard rumors about Steve Wynn for the Loews property. I also did poking around about the Loews property. Their occupancy is actually pretty good. Their issues probably aren't a lack of business. It's like everyone else, a high mortgage at time when room rates were at their lowest. The Loews is a good hotel company. If the other rumors I heard aren't true, the Loews isnt' going anywhere through the restructuring of the debt. (this is typical for hotels in this situation)

Thanks for all the info. You're right, I saw the coffee shop owner over the weekend. I believe it was all a little too much for him.

LLV is definitely headed in the right direction. The Ravella is completely sold out this week and Loews is at 60% capacity with higher rates.
