I had heard something to the effect that part of the RB golf course was residing within Master HOA property lines causing some issues with the sale.

@ecco, "residing" does that mean part of the RB property is on the LLV property? Wouldn't surprise me. It happened all over the Falls. (which was ok with Transcon owned everything) That should be a pretty easy fix to have a survey done. Unless, of course, someone at LLV is squaking about it.

How are the entrance roads? 2 each way in/out yet?

Yes exactly, if true what I heard, some parts of the RB golf course is on LLV property.

As for the entrance roads, both directions are open, though the newly paved inbound lane still doesn't have the top coat on it yet. I would anticipate they will close one side for the bicyclists, and leave the other side for car traffic this weekend. The Ironman set up crew is on-site near the bridge getting the staging area set up. There are some metal barricades going up around the Northshore in preparation. I read there will be 1,800 Ironman finalists at the Lake Las Vegas competition, so would anticipate a very packed event up to 5,000 people here.

This article fails to mention that the casino and hotel are now back open. It also looks like they used a very old photo.

whooopsie (from above article ^)....

A golf community goes off course -- Lake Las Vegas, Nev.

Even when judged by the dizzying promises made standard by boom-era planned communities, Lake Las Vegas was a doozy. Conceived in 1972, the development -- including an artificial lake carved out of the desert that cost $2 million a year to keep filled -- became a reality, and a hit, in the 1990s.

Now, to the chagrin of the retirees (and others) who bought thousands of homes in the community, Lake Las Vegas has become a well-heeled version of limbo. Golf courses nationwide have suffered since the recession, and for the fifth straight year, more closed than opened in 2010. But all three of the Lake Las Vegas golf courses went into foreclosure, and only the Golf Club at South Shore is back in operation -- no longer as a private club, but as one open to anyone willing to pay a $600 annual fee. Initiation fees dropped from $175,000 to, um, zero dollars. The development's casino, Casino MonteLago, closed in March of 2010, and the Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas shut down two months later. The lake isn't going anywhere, and the triple-digit temperatures are also there to stay.

That article has been floating around for a few months now. It is very outdated and the fact checker did not poke around to see that things with Lake Las Vegas, albiet aside from the politics has improved greatly.

Good to hear that all lanes are open. They are expecting record crowds this weekend. I hope all goes smoothly!!!

Lets all email the editor of the media that published that far from the truth article about LLV. I just did and said my peace about not checking their facts.

It does seem as if the fluff-piece is rehashing old problems. Still for the poor sap that just bought his/her retirement home there, I can imagine the horror they felt when they see a picture of it splashed all over the yahoo home page, with that big headline...over and over.

The bad press is indeed unfortunate...though still...I don't know anyone that has bought at LLV and felt regret or horror for buying here. Honestly, everyone I know living here loves it.
