Dr. John Watkins passed away last week at age 90. He couldn't have weighed more than 130 pounds if that, but he was the manliest man I've ever known. We both have served on the Silent Heroes of The Cold War Memorial Committee (below) together for a long time. He loved to climb mountains, and so do I. But even in his 80's he was still at it, finally making it up Mt. Whitney. I think it took him two trys for that one but he did it. Las Vegas should have more like him.

I'm sorry he is gone. After reading the obituary, I wish I'd had the opportunity to know him. I agree, we need more people like him!

Sorry for your loss, Buzz. He sounds like a wonderful guy and the Cold War Monument sounds great too. Thanks for the link.
