Yes. It's that bad. We take a sizable chunk of our tax revenue and ship it North to a bunch of rural teabaggers who complain bitterly about the size of government, while enjoying the benefits government subsidies -- our tax money.

At all levels of government, there is a hard-core group of ideologues who insist we cut government programs as the sole means of fixing budget deficits. That 60 Minutes piece is the logical conclusion of such cuts.

I wasn't aware that Berkley got the UMC cancer center reopened, along with the other departments that were cut. I thought her efforts were almost exclusively kidney dialysis and transplant related.

I certainly hope so. If we can't have a decent healthcare system, we need programs like that.

Doesn't matter, she's a Democrat. She could cure cancer and some people would still whine about it.

Millions of people die from malaria around the world each year. But if someone in Nevada needs expensive cancer treatment, I'm expected to pay for it?

Cancer sucks, car accidents suck, lots of things suck.

Best fix: Get the govt out of healthcare completely. No drug would be $50,000 then. As the lady said, people can't afford that. Supply & Demand would drive the prices down.

Worst part, according to the video, if you're poor enough you're fine. Fine system America has erected here.

Reality check at table 51, please.
