Recommendations for Movie Theaters?
Let me start off by saying I hate going to the movies because I am a cheap mofo and I think civilization is at its worst when it comes to being locked together and displaying its general lack of courtesies (chatting loudly, cell phone use, babies, folks bringing children to ultra violent/sexually charged films, etc).
With that said, which theaters do you all prefer and why? I've seen some endorsements in the "Things I wish I knew..." thread but I was wondering if you could go into more detail. I'm going to head to the Orleans today to check it out and that'll be my base for comparison (gonna see Superbad or The Simpsons if anyone was wondering).

Neonopolis or the Tropicana Cinemas are pretty much the best in my opinion, especially the Trop since with the 8 dollar showings they have unlimited soda and popcorn...Neonopolis is fun and has more movies...

In our neighborhood we prefer the Santa Fe, the Suncoast, or the Rainbow Promenade just because they are closer. They're all about the same. Some have newer, more comfortable seats. Try Fandango to find the theatre closest to you that is playing the movie you want to see. Movie Tickets & Theater Showtimes - Fandango

I'm not a fan of the Colonnade, it is very disgusting, never clean and they have rude personnel there as well...Green Valley Ranch's bathrooms are oddly placed outside of the theaters, even though that kind of stops movie hopping, if you lose your ticket you are screwed...
The Palms has a nice movie theater, it is clean, and they have a nice food court, which contains Famiglia Pizza, which is a good fast-pizza place...
The South Point theater is clean and is usually empty and nicely air-controlled and doesn't have many rowdy customers as many other places...
The Sunset Station theaters are also always dirty...

Being also a member of the Cheap Mofo tribe (Hail, brother! *secret handshake = a clenched fist*), I have always appreciated the Neonopolis. Last summer, if memory serves, they had a deal for Tuesday matinees which included a coke and popcorn. The garage is always empty (and parking, when validated, is free), and the theaters are almost always empty also.

I usually opt for the Red Rock. It's much nicer than most of the old theatres, relatively clean, and the lines are never too long.
The Suncoast would be my second favorite. It's not as "cool" as the Red Rock, but it's even less crowded, and my favorite thing is that they let you bring in food from the casino's restaurants (which is far preferrable to eating cheap theatre food).
If you're looking for comfort and luxury, you'd probably like the Village Square Cinema on Sahara. It's pretty fancy, with plush red velvet chairs and whatnot. I personally don't care for it though (longer lines).

The theaters at Ft Apache and Sahara are just fine. Support the theaters that aren't in the casinos. More choice is better.
