I actually really like Matts post. Good sound comments, had fun and moving for a good reason. Moving and still not bashing the town he chose to live in and chose to leave. Maybe some readers will take note and provide good examples of why leaving instead of just bashing and hating.
It's too hot?? It has the same weather basically every year. Was this an eye opener when they got there...hmmm, not much to say about that.
Too much crime?? I don't know. I know that from my home state of Michigan you would NEVER go to most areas of Detroit, Flint, Ann Arbor, etc... unless you wanted to have problems.
Good luck though Matt..I enjoyed your post. I'm a US Navy guy, have been for 21 years and still going, I hope I never see water again unless it's Lake Mead of ponds on the golf course.

Very good post Chuckay---unlike the cheerleaders that post on this site, you obviously see LV for the cesspool it is.

sheriff, dude. just leave. you clearly hate it in LV. why stay? i gathered that you are making more money here than you could be making elsewhere...but is that so much more important to you than being happy?

many of your criticsms of LV center around the criminal element and greedy components of society. from your postings i know you like to generalize and lump things together without exception.....well, what is your take on you staying somewhere specifically for the money? you are basically selling your happiness for a paycheck...

you know there is a name for people who sell their bodies for a paycheck...they are called pro atheletes, but that is another story

my point is that if money is the only reason you stay, you are really not that different than the city itself.

i guess im in for it then, i dont have a choice but to move somewhere that has a good pay rate and good housing. Friends of mine are moving with me so it will be an even split with the bills and rent so it wont be all on our shoulders. my husband daughter and myself are moving in a couple weeks so i'm trying to hope for the best.

LOL, on point c. GuinJim...good luck in LV...I'm sure you researched it and will do fine. My particular beef is with people who visit the strip on vacation, decide its the best place in the world to live...and then drag their kids there to live with them.

a valid beef. (to quote helen lovejoy - won't someone please think of the children!)

my views come from a single, mid-thirties, no children perspective.
