Default Dumb question..., please help!!!

Good Day,

I have a question regarding the situation where a person has bad credit and this
situation affecting their ability to gain employment in Las Vegas.

Now I understand that any position requiring a perspective employee who would
be required to handle cash, would be mandatory to have a good credit score
or rating, this is a given.

But my question regards general employment position where no money is handled,
Would the perspective employee to have a good credit score to gain any form of
employment in Las Vegas?

I appreciate you time and consideration in this matter.

Kind regards

Dave

many of your criticsms of LV center around the criminal element and greedy components of society. from your postings i know you like to generalize and lump things together without exception.....well, what is your take on you staying somewhere specifically for the money? you are basically selling your happiness for a paycheck...

you know there is a name for people who sell their bodies for a paycheck...they are called pro atheletes, but that is another story

my point is that if money is the only reason you stay, you are really not that different than the city itself.

Unfortunately, some people think the entire city is like the Strip. If people go outside the strip and drive around, they find out the truth. Go to the NW where my house is being built and there are no billboards promoting sex, no leafletters passing out call girl services. It is clean, and the people are genuinely friendly. No gang activity exists and there are no homeless people.

Some people are going to bash Vegas which is OK. It is up to each person to make an objective conclusion rather than a broad irrational statement. Anyone wanting to see whether Vegas is a good fit needs to spend time as I have numerous times to look at the factors of traffic, weather, crime, schools, social climate, etc. As I have said numerous times, it is not for everyone but if you've lived in a big city and have been exposed to crime then you see that Vegas has low crime especially when it comes to crimes against persons.

right...i understand not liking where you live. what i don't understand is why someone who HATES where they live can't follow their own advice and go somewhere that'll make them happy.

now, if the $$ coming in is what makes them happy then so be it...but at least be honest and give some props to the city that allows them to make the $$ that makes them happy.

venomous posts and "broad irrational statements" (as Golfinnova so nicely put it ) from someone reaping the rewards of living in LV seem kinda hypocritical...esp. when there are clearly more dangerous and crime ridden places to call home.

It is said that nobody really lives in Las Vegas...they just 'borrow' it...some longer than others. It is everyone's town, yet no one's town at the same time. It's a town where nobody was born there.

Las Vegas does have a thriving Main Street...it's called The Strip.

Angry Think Carefully!!!!!!!!!!!!

Inpart I agree with "Chuckay" this town breeds desperation!
I used to love this city, but living here opens a whole new world - drug addicts - weirdos - conmen/women - lowlife scum! And before you say its the same as any other city its size your wrong, I have traveled virtually around the world & there is NO place like it on Gods earth!!!
If your a woman on your own forget it, this place is NOT safe.
On the upside I have made many good friends here, people are genrally friendly and will try & help you out, just be careful who you trust if anyone!

are you a woman on your own? (hard to tell from the name)

but seriously...the people i am renting from (two young women) have been in vegas for many years, lived in the huntridge area, loved going downtown (both areas of the strip). they, nor any of their friend, had anything bad to say about LV. you just have to use your head like you would in any metro area...act stupid, and eventually stupid things will happen.

I live with a friend of mine both of us single white females. You have to use your head at all times, observe everyone around you & your surroundings! We are forced to carry pepper spray everywhere we go.
Downtown is our favorite haunt its great as long as you stick to the Fremont Street Experience area where security is paramount. As I said its different living here than vactioning in LV. Get out of the tourist areas and see the real deal.

you are assumig that i haven't. (i stayed in the strip and FST the 1st couple of times in LV...since then we have ventured a little).

and yeah...there is without a doubt some sketchy areas. and i would assume that most women carry pepper spray (they did in omaha, milwaukee, ABQ, LA, chicago, etc.). it is an unfortunate reality of living in a city....so i do appreciate where you are coming from w/ respect to not feel safe walking alone through 'bad' areas, but these areas (and feelings) are not unique to the LV experience.
