My husband said it's someone with a flashlight. He is not very creative and does not believe in ghosts.

Light from police helicopter maybe? Could the vibration of the helicopter hovering overhead trigger the camera?

It does look a lot like Casper though.

It wouldn't be the light from the helicopter. I've seen that before when living in The Lakes area years ago. When they shine it down, it engulfs a wide area, and it becomes brighter than daylight lighting up everything. Not like the orb floating around his pool.

Hmmm well my first thought is the moon reflecting off your pool into the lens at a spot not in the picture and the small variances in shape could be explained by ripples. Moonrise the morning of the 23rd was at 0209 so right around the time of the "phenomena". That would also make some sense of why it appears to be rising in the time lapse since the moon is going higher in elevation. The thing that throws this theory off is the last pic where it goes lowers again...maybe blame that on a ripple in the water?

ANY stray light can reflect off the surfaces of the lens...a simple lens has two ...inner and outer....discount the outer because that bounces of into the outside....the inner reflection will/can reflect back INTO the camera causing a chromatic aberetion....if you have a COMPOUND lens [one with more then one element then EACH elements will have a reflection....you can then have a ROW of reflection running down in a straight line. [one or two for each element.

OR it could be Aliens looking for Area 51

I'm going with the alien theory.

Your pool is haunted.

Any strange things going on inside your house, yet?
