Your team made it closer than my team did. Now let's circle our wagons around Detroit and hope the American League wins.

PS -- I was in Fenway the day Bucky Dent hit his dinger. I clapped. Damned good hit. And completely unexpected. I'm more of a fan of the game than the teams. But I think you're right there with me in that regard.

Bosox Rule, Cubs are a close second. (Lived in both cities...)

Do I miss not having some real Professional teams after living in some Major sports towns?

Not really.... I certainly miss going to some real college football games after going to University of Georgia though...

But if LV got a Pro team... I'd probably get season tickets. Beats waiting around for season tickets for the Cubs... (#39,739 on the waiting list... LOL!)

I do go see the Wranglers 5-6 times a year, I would go to a ton more 51's games if they get a dome as it's too hot. 2 weeks ago I took my son to the JT Shriners open which was good.

If we got a MLB team or NHL team, I would be in line to get season tickets.

We're coming for you next Friday night. GO EERS! (I take it you're in Syracuse?).

I feel the same way. For some reason collge sports is more fun to watch. Probably because there is still a spirit of team and school there, and the players aren't here today, gone tomorrow. And most of the players aren't low life gangsters that aren't even smart enough to count all that money they're paid, let alone that nobody would want to live next door to them.

I don't think very many people here give a sh** about it. It seems to bother those who don't live here more than it does us. We had a professional basketball team during the days we had Jerry Tarkanian. UNLV gets a lot of support, but I don't think it's anywhere near what it was in those glory days.

Now we all know Las Vegas doesnít have a major league team in any of the popular sports in America, BUT does the fact you guys get alot of other sporting events make up for the lack of pro sports?

Here is a small list of the other sporting events you guys have:

Monster Energy Motocross Championship each year in LV
Supermoto races at Southpointe Casino
Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
NASCAR racing at the Speedway
Monster Jam Trucks (Monster Trucks)
Las Vegas Bowl (College Football) each Chirstmas Day
Rugby Sevens is played in LV as the U.S. stop each year
LV 51ís (Minor Leauge Baseball)
LV Wranglers (Minor Leauge Hockey)
UNLV games (College Football and Basketball)
All types of PGA/LPGA golf events
MMA is growing each day thanks to big fights in LV, and what is Las Vegas without Boxing and some of thatís sports major bouts fought in LV.

So with all of these different sports going on, do most sports fans in LV care if you have a pro team? Iíve always wanted to know

(P.S. Do any of you here go to these events?)
You forgot the National Finals Rodeo. Most of those sports are here to attract more tourists, and the promoters bring them here because they know everyone wants to come to Las Vegas. They are not here for locals, but we could see them if we could afford it, and if we get tickets in advance. Local Las Vegans are famous for not supporting professional sports though. This subject has been beaten to death over the many years I've lived here. There are as many theories as to why pro sports wouldn't make it here as there are video poker machines. We used to have regular weekly boxing on the Strip. That was very popular and I don't know what happened to it.

Yeah it could get ugly for my boys next week, real ugly...but I've learned to take our beatings like a man over the past 5-10yrs! Makes the wins that much sweater. I love WV too...beautiful state, great football and basketball teams, great fans...only "hate" them a couple times a year. I really hope WV and UCONN end up in the ACC with us to keep our rivalries alive. Tarkanian was great...program was a little shady but they all walk that fine line on ncaa rules...just look at calapari. But good luck friday...hope its a great game and nobody gets hurt.
