I use only honda parts when it comes to electrical (alternator, starter, fuel pump, relays..etc.) but other than that you can go with aftermarket. I take my car to a local shop called Royalty Auto and they have never let me down.
I'm a Honda Civic man myself...need reliable car with good gas mileage when one travels 50 miles (each way) to work. My '95 has 331k on it and still runs smooth. My last 2 cars have both been Civic's...as will be my next one.

gotcha...6'5"/330 might fit good in an AZ Cardinal uniform....but not the Civic. Just out of curiousity....what do you drive? (and don't say pickup or olecapt will have you selling it!)

Cool! My 93 has been really good to me also. I bought it was a commuter car back when I lived in CA. Still runs good at 220K. There is a guy in Georgia that had a 1995 civic with 1 million miles on it and still sold it for 2500 bucks. Can you believe it was the original motor and trans (5 spd)

Did you know the 95' civic is the most stolen car here? go figure

I hear the 8th generation civic is more problematic than the previous years. I Kinda like the Honda Fit myself.

I'm thinking of getting Fit, myself. Both ways...that way I'll get better gas mileage transporting the lesser weight in a gas-friendly car! I've added it on two separate lines to my New Year's resolution!

Up here in the NE, the winters are not kind to auto bodies. While my Honda runs great, the bod is starting to rust out. I plan to get another Honda next year. Have you heard any (+) or (-) on the Fit?

I hear the Fit is solid. Its still built in Japan rather than the US for the Civic and Accord. My Civic still has the original paint and not a spot of rust. Everyone thinks I painted it but I just took care of the paint. Even in the harsh sun, I use a good wax called Zaino Brothers that has some kind of UV protection. The only thing i have is lots of chips from rocks but that's a given. The Fit is an awesome car and fun to drive. The automatic Fit has paddle shifters like the Corvette or Ferrari's
