Hello everyone:

Well, perhaps I'm confused.....

There is a gorgeous 2 bedroom condo located in Nevada Ranch (by Horton Homes).... (gated community)

we are very excited, but I have recently noticed there are a LOT for sale in this subdivision...

is it the economic downturn OR is it the LOCATION??

Just 1 block from BOULDER HIGHWAY -- cross streets are E Harmon
and E Tropicana

We don't have young children, and are semi-retired

Would we feel safe in this area?

Can't wait for your answers, and I've got my fingers crossed

Thanks for all you help,

it's greatly appreciated

Cheers,

PatriciaCanadian

Smile Oops, Nevada Ranch is actually 89122; that's better....

[mod cut-- threads merged]
It's actually in the orange zone; so still some caution, I suspect

Anyway, we really love these new condos, but as I mentioned earlier,
there are soooooooo many for sale.

We are wondering if the neighborhood is somewhat unsafe?

(just a block from Boulder Highway, cross streets are E Harmon and E Tropicana)

Thanks again for your input

Cheers

Yes, I am reading your mind at this moment and I now know you would feel safe in this area.

What does the crime statistics on the metro website say?

If you like it buy it. :-)

What if it was a little bit of both? Would you still go for it?

Problem 1: It's a Las Vegas condo.

Problem 2: It's close to Boulder Highway.

There are so many places in the same price range that DON'T suffer from either of the above problems, I'd keep looking.

And I live in Sunrise, which most people here equate to living in one of Dante's circles of Hell. (It isn't all that bad, really. The views are spectacular. And there are safe, reasonable ways of bypassing the riff-raff on the way home.)

A couple locals got into a fight in the Walmart parking lot over a door ding, one got stabbed to death and there was some loony who took out a group of people at the valet in front of Sam's Town waiting for their cars. Other than that kind of stuff it's pretty safe.

A few posts up, the OP said they've already decided to buy the condo. So, her questions have been answered, it appears.
