Gotta agree -- online.

Bonds House of Cutlery is the best knife store in Las Vegas. But if you're really a collector, I don't think you'll want anything they sell. Most of their blades are "for show." (Think sci-fi and fantasy swords.) Although they do have a good selection of folding and hunting knives, if you're into that sort of thing. They have a decent assortment of mid-range kitchen knives, but again, not nearly enough considering how many cooks this city employs.

I buy all my steel online. Saves a bundle, and I get the quality I need for work.

I think he wants to shop for one here in Las Vegas, not on line. Bass Pro Shop might be a good place to start. Not sure about REI or Dick's Sporting Goods, but they might. Pawn Shops would probably be a fun place to look. Some of the booths in the indoor flea markets have all kinds of knives. They are usually only open on Friday-Sat-Sun. Downtown gift shops that sell "Indian" stuff would have them too, but they might have been made in China ...or they might have been made by Buck ...who knows?

Are you only going to visit Las Vegas, or will you be traveling throughout the Southwest? You'd find really good ones in New Mexico, and probably Arizona.

Vegas is really known for Knife making... but I suppose there could be one or two makers here... and some dealers.

If I were you, go to one of the gun shows, you can find anything there... they are great here in Nevada, specially when compared to Kalifornia
