but you were still under the care of your parents....there's a big differance.
The OP was talking about being an emancipated minor and living as an adult with no parental control.

Those are eventually called inmates.

Well no I wasn't really. I moved 300 miles away and paid for school and my apartment by myself. My parents weren't really involved after that. Anyway, the OP didn't really say what their intentions were, so just giving another side.

i have a 17 yr old grandchild who I have had guardianship of since she was 9. Found out she is pregnant, where does my responsibility stop? i don't feel I should have to be responsible for the pregnancy costs of this child. I had provided her with birth control since she was 16 and recently she decided to stop taking it and surprise, surprise. I am living paycheck to paycheck and can not afford another medical expense.

If you're having serious family issues, get some help. It's there but you have to ask for it and accept it. If you're just having a normal "gawd i hate my folks" day do this: Take a drive through some ratty neighborhood, watch the news for about 10 minutes, read the history of what happened to the vietnamese when saigon fell, talk to a soldier that just got back from iraq. Then tell me how bad your day was, okay?

Spend a few weeks going thru my vast true crime library, and once you "graduate", you'll have the CIA & FBI & Metro all scratching their heads!

My Nefew lives with his grandmother from his fathers side and he wants to move out and go to his mothers he is now 16 years old. He goes to high school and college, he lives in the state of Nevada . The grandmother is well known in the community and seems to have a lot of pull. Every time my sister try's to get her son in court it is denied. When he was a little guy the father took him out of state and had him taken away from my sister, the household in which he lives there is a lot of mental abuse so the Nefew tells people . What can she do to regain custody or does my Nefew have to wait til he's 18 to move out?
