It's gotta be a fake, or staged. No one would park cars like that in a drive-in. What if someone right in the middle had to leave for an emergency??? Another reason the cars are too close...the make-out sessions would be seen by others.

Besides...there is no screen in any drive-in that would look like that, unless it was a huge HDTV...especially with daylight still present.

Something else odd with that pic...cars are parked behind the screen and to the sides...and some way to close to the screen...to make viewing impossible.

I totally agree..If you look close you will see a few of the cars on the right are actually even with the screen or forward of it a bit...

And the picture does not fill the screen..It is wide enough but top to bottom is short....

Maybe it was a promotional pic....

Huge miss...where's the speaker poles with speakers running to the car windows. Back then...there was no transmitting through the car radio...they all heavy clunkers that looked like this:

Yep so true.. Looks like a cple of them between the cars in the very center of the pic in the last 2 rows.. But no speakers going anywhere....

I'd love to have a drive-in nearby! When I was a kid there was one in my old hometown. When I was about 10 my parents would take a friend and I and drive 2 separate cars. They'd park them on opposite sides of the lot and my friend would have our own car! So much fun. We'd also load up on a big bag of popcorn from a local "popcorn man" who had a stand outside his house. He sold good old fashioned popcorn in big paper bags.

So much fun!
