Youre absolutely right. Even though the NY style pizza doesnt necessarily deserve the heaps of praise it gets (usually from people who have very little pizza experience), it is edible and bears some resemblance to what pizza should be. The stuff they serve in Chicago should have some other name than pizza.
I never eat pizza off of a conveyor belt.

Hey I just want to say that I found a place that makes a surprisingly good Pizza.

Not a pizza place though.

Vino's on North Durango in Cent Hills. They are really cheap and pretty tasty.

Some day I'll have to go to NYC and see what the fuss is really all about. Perhaps you guys are just homesick though and the pizzas are overrated. Just my .02

I've been to NY....I've eaten their Pizza.... I've been.....whelmed by it....NOT Overwhelmed, NOT Underwhelmed....just Whelmed..... The GOOD thing about it was that, beCAUSE it had so few topings, it was easy to eat on the run.....which is where all Gnu Yawkers seem to eat.
