It doesn't matter nearly as much what grade little suzy gets in 3rd grade math as much as where she derives her attitudes and social skills from. If she is growing up around kids with no respect, no intention of even graduating and whom feel quite hopeless, this is going to rub off significantly. Even a fantastic teacher isn't going to totally mitigate this.

You both remind me of my mother-in-law. My daughter goes to Clarence-Piggott. MIL complains about how she thinks the parents are low class- that she wants her to go to a private school where parents are more involved, have money so that she grows up around the right type of kids/families, where the work is more challenging etc.. I understand where she's coming from but at the same time I think parental involvement is the most important thing for success at school. I don't even think my daughter would do well in a strict school environment.

Just wanted to add that I'm happy with the school & I like her teacher plus it's 30 seconds from my house.
