Hi,

My family and I will be relocating to Henderson early next year, We will rent for a while until we really know the areas of Henderson. I'm trying to convince my husband that we aren't ready to purchase a home yet, but buying a townhome or a condo would be a better choice. I would really like to find a detached townhome or condo, we have had too many bad experiences with loud neighbors and bad parking. I absolutely hate sharing walls and we have 2 children, so I would really like the privacy and space. I have searched trulia, zillow as well as several other sites, but no luck. We are currently out of state, so it's difficult for us to travel to Henderson everyday to search thoroughly. Fellow Henderson/ Las Vegas residents, Are there any detached townhomes or condos in the area?

What's the difference between a detached townhouse and a SF house? From my standpoint, it's the attachment that makes it a townhouse. And condos are basically multifamily apartment building where they sell the units instead of renting them. If you want no walls in common get a regular SF house. You can find ones with HOAs that do all the exterior work, if that's what you want.

BTW Vegas seems like a SF house type of place. The multifamily owned properties don't seem to do well.

Thank you for your reply, After doing more research I guess a single family home would be better for us.

I live in Green Valley , near Warm Springs and Stephanie in the Emerald Valley subdivision . The area is great walking distance to Green Valley High School and Restaurant Row and 2 minutes away from the Galleria Mall and Sunset Station . Everything is close and nearby .

I think I'd go uphill / across the highway to Green Vally Ranch / McDonald Highland. Something about being down on the flats is unappealing. Also, I'd want as much distance/elevation between me and the Timet/BMI complex as possible.

It is more complex than that. Townhouses may or may not be attached. And there are a couple of complexes where the edge ones are not attached and everything inside is.

In general townhouses own the ground under the house. Condos do not.

There are also sfrs that are impossible to tell from townhouses. "Patio homes"

Most of the townhouses are in communities with shared services like swimming pools and jogging tracts. Seldom done with SFRs...though it can be.

Do you wish to buy or rent?

It is not clear.
