I bought a condo about a year ago and currently spend about 2 weeks every
other month in Vegas playing poker. If I were you with your cost requirements I would seriously look at leasing at City Center for your first year. You are most likely to play at Aria, Bellagio (which would be walking distance) or Venetian and maybe Wynn which are both just a short ways away. I think the 1300 price is a great deal for these condos. I would look at these first and if they don't suit you then maybe some of the other places might work but City Center would be the first place I would consider.

I found it pretty hard to find regular games for those limits... usually I end up at Bellagio

It's been a while since I've played there, but The Orleans use to have the $10/20 games.

Edit

The Wynn is the best ATM I think. Why don't you just put 15k down and purchase a 150k house in sw Vegas if you plan on being here for a while. I'm in the same boat an am moving from the nw with my wife and kids and we are buying most likely in seven hills. Check it out. A lot of nice gated communities there.

Thanks again to everyone's replies. Hi BeNice, I've actually thought about this as well. Although I don't think I could get financing with 10% down being a poker player, the banks would probably want like 30% or more. Also, I just don't think house living is for me. Being single and wanting to be in the center of the action all the time, I think I'll always be a high rise condo guy. Who knows, maybe I'll eventually get a house out in the suburbs but not right now.
