I have posted on the forum before, but I relocated to Las Vegas from the Mid-West about 6 months ago and just got around to posting again!

I information everyone provided on their threads was very helpful in finding a place to live, places to eat and places to ultimately avoid .

I'd like to share my experiences so far...

I never thought I'd say it, but I'm getting tired to the strip... I understand why locals avoid it!

I have been pleasantly surprised by the other things to do around town however! The locals casino's are nice (GVR, M, Red Rock to name a few) for my $30 a month fix...
I love basketball so UNLV games have been fun to watch (being a fan for the past week has been frustrating though!).
I enjoy going to Town Square, all the parks I can play sports at and the weather.

Yes Vegas has it's down points, but I was prepared for them based on trends I saw in the forum. This isn't meant to bash the forum, but i did notice a negative spin on LV a few months ago and as I lived down here I thought "I'm so busy with my career, new friends and enjoying life that I haven't had time to post on the forum about why I love Las Vegas" maybe others are in my same boat which is why I didn't see a whole lotta love for the town.

So anyways, thank you to those who answered my questions or others. When I flew down to find a place to call home, my mom and I are able to strategically target specific areas.

Thank you and hopefully I'm on here more than every 6 months!

Actually we are all very positive on this forum, we just post negatively because we try and keep all of Las Vegas to ourself's!

Welcome, and we (we) are glad you are happy in your new home
BUT DON'T TELL ANYONE!

Thanks for updating us and glad you're having a good time. Negative opinions come from all different experiences, foreclosures, job loss, spousal separation, unrealistic expectations, bad luck, poor planning and from those who don't/never lived here but just visited a few times, lol.

Every place is not perfect and certainly Vegas isn't either, but for some us..it is truly PAIR O DICE

BTW, I agree, those Rebels have been a bit tough to watch lately

I use to complain about my shoes until I meet a person with no feet. Some of us do not know how good we have it. Myself I will be a soon to be resident to Las Vegas. Here at home I have the same reservations about the area as a person in Las Vegas. I believe some remarks are from people who are in different stages of life. Myself I would be negative about the weather in the area I live in while raving about it in Las Vegas. Enough of that I hope you enjoy more fun and thanks for sharing it ith us.

I've heard my friends say it as well as people this forum "I never realize how much I love/miss Vegas, until I go back home".
