Default Shipping NY ---> LV

All my bags are packed, i'm ready to go...
But HOW...

I have about a 1 BR left of stuff in Brooklyn to ship to LV

I have been looking at POD type moving containers, but every one has some shinanigans attached..

Door2Door - They drop pods in both locations, But they allow only 2 hrs to load and unload any additional time is $50 a hr

Uhaul-Wehaul - There actually pretty good, competitive with Door2door
but I gotta rent a trailer and bring it and a pod to my house, they wont drop a pod in brooklyn!

800PACKRAT - Don't service Brooklyn

UFP-Pods: Still waiting for them to reply

anyone have any ideas?
I want to try and keep this at about a $2000 expenditure

Jonathan

2hrs to load and unload one bedroom worth of stuff seems like plenty. It took me and one friend that long to fully unload a PACKED 26ft Penske with a full house's worth of stuff.

Uhaul 10' truck would cost $2,535.00 - plus gas, plus hotels, etc.
so that is a no go.

I need more time, I am packing some furniture, etc besides boxes, I would need a DAY minimum

Truckers are always looking for ways to maximize miles and money. Companies like United Van Lines run between NY & Vegas often or on the way into LA. Sometimes a company will book a load that will fill 3/4 of a trailer, and the other 1/4 trailer goes "wasted". If your lucky you can find one that could load your belongings up depending on mass and weight and tote your stuff along with the other load saving you a little over renting a whole truck.

Also like JFKIII mentioned, uShip might be an option and it is based on a bid auction system. Truckers and transporters use this to find freight to drive around. For the most accurate rates try to be honest with the size dimensions and weight. You hate to misstate a dimension and a driver bids on that quote and comes with the wrong equipment/trailer.

For the cost of shipping and hassle involved sell the stuff and buy new in Las Vegas. Just a suggestion.
