Have heard great stories about his place but have never visited it. If I'm going to, the clock is now ticking:

White Cross Drugs, 60-year-old business, to close March 31 - Business - ReviewJournal.com

Tiffany's is supposed to remain open though from what I heard.

Little by little, all our old time neighborhood drug stores are closing to make way for Walgreens and CVS. Sad, even though I haven't gotten a prescription here for at least 17 years, I'll always remember going in and my prescription ready in the little white paper bag, and you never had to give your name to pick it up, everybody at White Cross knew it

Oh no. I was feeling guilty that I never went there anymore, but it's not lack of business that's closing it down ...they were ordering too many controlled drugs. WTF? It is a drug store isn't it? Isn't that what they sell?

I guess that's the penalty for being too successful.

It does seem strange, but we have no idea what the terms of their contract were.

As the comments on the article indicate, there is obviously much more to the story than is being reported.

I agree with Drunk

It seems to me that there might have been a Lack of control with the controlled substances.
