I hate this type of post! Yes, I know Las Vegas has it's problems and has really suffered in the past 5+ years. But I don't need to find every stinking list from so many different, questionable sources posted on this website!

This is because of lack of diversified industry. I am unsure why the city can't make a deal with large corporations too "hard to refuse". Unless it is the workforce that is the primary reason.

Without a stronger education system, especially universities, Las Vegas is going to have problems attracting companies that rely on a highly educated workforce which is where growth is now. As far as I can tell, UNLV is the only university in the area, and it's not considered a very good one.

The article's pictures were great. Sacramento looks like something from that Life After People series.

Never, I repeat NEVER take these surveys or studies without a grain of salt.. ALL and I mean ALL of them are slanted in certain ways to reflect what the "authors" want them to be....

At times Las vegas is not better off or worse off than a ton of other cities.....They all change their "profiles" daily and even come right back to the same thing throughout every year, year after year...

Every time you read or hear of these things no matter what entity put it out you can not take it at face value fully...

In my opinion the LV city council is doing a fine job. They're going to make up the loss in property tax revenue by taking a bigger bite with consolidated taxes. Let the smokers, drinkers and property flippers pay for public projects! Works for me...
