Would it be feasible to ride a bike everyday from Paradise / Harmon to Sunset/ Las Vegas Blvd? Google maps shows it as about a 6 mile ride but I'm not sure if about the areas I would be riding through.

if you like being a hood ornament, YES.

Bikes, ANYwhere that there is no DEDICACATED bike lane are guaranteed to make you the LATE CDAQ.

If there IS a dedicated bike lane you will be able to rest assured that when they bury you, YOU were in the right.

When I worked in Henderson I would bike from Sunrise to Henderson -- it was all back roads and dirt roads except for a short stretch on Gibson.

There is absolutely no way I would bike anywhere near the strip. Drunk tourists in a hurry. Texting locals late for work. Emergency vehicles. Old people stoned out of their minds on meds.

Not for a million dollars.

I disagree. I see plenty of bikers, specifically in the inner east las vegas area which is what he is talking about. I would avoid the main, 6 lane streets like the plague and stick to residential streets which isn't hard to do.

You may see plenty of bikers. But have you BEEN a bike commuter here?

I got tired of the near-misses and stopped doing it. Now I just bike to the wetlands park, look at the ducks, and bike back for exercise.

I have already been hit by one driver -- on Hollywood Blvd. And I got lucky. There's no amount of money that would get me to ride anywhere near the intersection of Sunset and LVB. All it takes is one distracted driver looking at airplanes when he or she SHOULD be looking at the bicyclist about to be run over.

I have a couple bikes, but one has an 1100cc motor, another 450cc and another 250cc. There's no way I would ride a pedal bike unless it was possible to take back roads the whole way. Riding a motorcycle around here is dangerous enough.

As long as you're safe, I don't see why not. When I first moved here, I biked fro Trop and Maryland to around that area no problem. Just have a backup for the windy days and the winter.

Have you considered a combination of bike/bus?
Bike the side streets then use the bus for passage down the main thoroughfares.
