Be aware that "number of incidents" is not indicative of safety if the population density is low.

Try checking some of those zip codes with the North Las Vegas crime map. Las Vegas does not cover the entire valley. Also in Henderson, they should have their own as well.

Or all but the older, parts of Henderson west of Boulder Highway, which is mostly their downtown area. Or south of Lake Mead Parkway maybe. Keep in mind that there is also a Lake Mead Blvd in Las Vegas/NLV, and stay as far from that as possible east of U.S. 95.

Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Holly Molly Buzz. What's left? Are you saying everything West of 95 near Lake Mead Blvd. is not good? What about South Shore and Desert Shore.

You know what bugs me. All the pretty green areas are slowly becoming taboo. So the bad guys continually keep getting more and more of the pretty green areas, and if we can't afford Summerlin, then we get the dirt.

Block wall construction (better for stopping bullets)
NO HOA! (creates a false sense of security)
Large/hungry dog (spiked collar optional!)

The first three zip codes I either live in currently, used to live in or have a family member that lives there. I think its just a no crime streak. I am sure something will pop up eventually.

I live in 89121. I have not had any trouble. My boyfriend lives in Summerlin and obviously has a safer neighborhood, however, there was a shooting of a prowler there not long ago. It's really a crap shoot. I would definitely stay away from letter and state named streets as well as the Flamingo/Swenson, Maryland Parkway area.

Hey Sarah...I'm relatively new to this forum and just bought a "snowbird" condo for occasional use and from Jan to May starting Jan 2015 in 89121...Echo Bay FYI. Can you give me the real scoop for the area when it comes to bussing and walking in the area, say down to Sam's Town during the day or early evening hours. There sure aren't a lot of Nellis area lovers on this site but so many Canadians I know are buying in this area. Most rent cars by the week but hubbie and I don't want to worry about having drinks and then driving in the big city. We're driving down next Sunday for two weeks as I don't have a stick of furniture in it yet and that's our first day's task. From that point on I really would prefer flying as it's only 2 1/2 hrs from Vancouver BC.
