You have to remember that in many cities in the west the price on a house does not mean you can buy it for that price. It is more of a guideline or beginning point and usually the property will sell for much more to the highest bidder at the end. The system out here works similar to what you see on Ebay. $190,000 is the "reserve price" for the house. The minimum the owner will take. But there will be at least a dozen bidders for the property each trying to out do the other and it will probably sell in the range of $300K.

I knew it was too good to be true. Still, even at $300k it's a nice place. Oh yeah, except for some of the painting. Though the tree was kind of cute. Thanks all.
